Wolde Wide Five Project |
Starting in 2020 during Covid 19 times Advanced Dairy Barns Ltd began work on the Wolde Wide Five project consisting of two sheds measuring 122.6m x 36.5m with cubical housing for 750 cows and a straw bedding area for a further 250 cows. These sheds were to be operational for the 2021 winter which had the business under some anxiety during Covid times to ensure our "On Price - On Time" moto was maintained.
This project included Advanced Dairy Barns Ltd building 2 x 3500M3 silage bunkers for the feed storage for wintering in the barns.

This project used Advanced Dairy Barns Ltd standard 36.5m width hot dip galvanised portals to obtain 17 bays at 7.2m spacing.
Agricow 50mm thickness latex mattress and Agricow Brushes were used to ensure maximum cow comfort. One side of one shed from the central feed lane used the standard 4m wide scraper lane. Behind this was a a straw area contained within 1200mm tall concrete panels. A concrete floor sloped to a seepage drain running the length of the shed to catch urine and moisture. Straw was blown into this area from the outside and used for loose housing in the wintering. At the commencement of calving this area was cleaned of old straw and with fresh straw added was then used for calving. Both the owner and herd manager said this was a brilliant utilization of the space.
