Side Wind Break

Good wintering shed design requires adequate airflow to prevent overheating and stress of cows. Depending on location and wind directions some form of side wind break may be required on dairy wintering sheds.

This can take the form of
  • Fixed cloth wind breaks fixed on or near the shed.
  • Movable cloth wind breaks fixed on or near the shed.
  • Automatic climate control wind break fixed onto the shed.

The Automatic climate control wind break system consists of a weather station to monitor wind, rain, temperature inside and outside the shed. A control system adjusts the opening of the side curtain automatically to maintain the optimum conditions for maximum cow comfort
